After a 112-year absence, golf is returning to the Summer Olympic Games this year in Rio, Brazil. It is hoped that the Olympics will add to golf’s popularity, especially in emerging markets. Previously, we took a look at the newly-created Olympic Golf Course, designed by Gil Hanse.
With a test event under its belt and the golf events starting in just about a week’s time, the team at Golf Digest previews the golf course in the short video above. We also look back at the history of golf in the Olympics and how the sport returned to the games after such a long hiatus.
