Sergio Garcia has been one of the best golfers in the world for a long time. In February 2002, Sergio decided to put his influential power to good use, establishing the Sergio Garcia Foundation. The aim of the foundation is to integration disadvantaged children and young people on a social basis through “social assistance and extracurricular activities associated with sports, promoting, developing and funding golf clinics for disabled kids and young adults.”
Less than 24 hours after the Open Championship at Royal Troon, a day of fundraising and golf was held at Golf Club Bad Ragaz in Switzerland, benefiting Sergio’s foundation. It was a star-studded field at the event and among the many golfers who made an appearance was Rory McIlroy, 2015 Open Champion Zach Johnson and 2016 Open Champion Henrik Stenson.
In the video above, Golfing World provides us with a behind the scenes look at the #SergioAndFriends event in Switzerland. Of course, the topic would also stray to the incredible performance that Henrik Stenson put on to capture his first Major title at Royal Troon just one day earlier.
