The 145th Open Championship at Royal Troon was a thriller this past week. However, it was a duel between eventual champion Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson as they separated themselves from the field. The fourth ranked player in the world Rory McIlroy struggled at times but shot a 4-under 67 in his final round to finish tied fifth in the tournament.
Earlier in the week, Rory showed us how he would approach the iconic par 3, 8th known as the Postage Stamp at Royal Troon. In the continuation of the NGC (Nike Golf Club) series, Rory breaks down how he would play the difficult tee shot on the 11th hole as well as how he would recover from any deep bunker on the golf course. After watching these videos, do you think Rory employed those strategies during the Open? Let us know in the comments below!
