A few years ago, Bubba Watson and Oakley teamed up to bring us their hovercraft as a new way of getting around the golf course. Now, they’re back and they’ve stepped up their game as they introduce Bubba’s Jetpack. With golf returning to the Olympics in Rio this summer, this project aims to introduce a bit of excitement to the game of golf.
The jetpack is built by Martin Aircraft and its two ducted fans are powered by a 200 HP engine. It has the capability to takeoff and land vertically and fly up to 3,000 feet in the air at just under 50 MPH. It also has a light footprint so there will be no worries about causing any damage to the fairways and greens.
A jetpack is certainly a more attractive alternative than a traditional golf cart but at a ballpark cost of $200,000 USD, it is also a very expensive alternative. However, it does offer certain tactical advantages and you can’t put a price on style. Watch the video above as Bubba and Oakley introduces the Bubba Jetpack!
