Rory McIlroy will be chasing his fifth major victory and his second Claret Jug at The Open Championship, the oldest of the four golf majors, starting July 14 at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland. Nike athletes joining McIlroy include Paul Casey, Kevin Chappell, David Duval, Tony Finau, Russell Henley, Jamie Lovemark, Francesco Molinari, Ross Fisher, Seung Yul Noh, Thorbjorn Olesen and Tommy Fleetwood.
We’ve seen their apparel scripting for the last major at the US Open at Oakmont Country Club – now take a look at what Team Nike and their athletes will be wearing as they chase the Claret Jug this week.
RORY MCILROY
Rory, who was unable to defend his title last year at St. Andrews, will look to add a second Claret Jug to his resume. Throughout the week, he’ll be wearing the Nike Classic 99 hat, MM Fly Swing Knit Alpha polo, Modern Tech Woven pant and the Lunar Control 4.
TONY FINAU
Tony Finau is one of the game’s rising stars. He makes his first appearance at The Open Championship this year at Royal Troon and will hope to make an impact. He will also be wearing the Nike Classic 99 hat but will pair it up with the Modern Fit Transition and Mobility polos, Modern Tech Woven pant and the Lunar Control 4.
SEUNG YUL NOH
Seung Yul Noh, who is a winner on the PGA TOUR, has one of our favourite looks from Team Nike this year. He will be wearing the Nike Legacy 91 Tour Mesh hat, Modern Fit Transition Dry polo, Modern Tech Woven Pant and the Lunar Control 4. We’re loving the volt coloured pair of shoes, which will definitely stand out in a crowd!
You can see what the rest of the Nike Golf team will be wearing at The 145th Open Championship online at the Nike Inc. website. Will it be a Nike Golf staff member who raises the Claret Jug this year? Leave a comment and let us know who you’re betting on this week!
