For the second time in three weeks, Dustin Johnson is in the winner’s circle again as he came from behind to win the 2016 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Shooting a final round of 4-under 66, Dustin was able to overtake a few players on the leaderboard, including world number one, Jason Day.
This is Dustin’s 11th PGA Tour victory and third World Golf Championship title after winning the 2013 WGC-HSBC Champions and 2015 WGC-Cadillac Championship. This victory, along with his US Open win at Oakmont Country Club two weeks ago, has moved DJ to second in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Before the 2016 US Open, it was often said that Dustin Johnson was the most talented player without a Major title. Ever since getting the monkey off his back, as Dustin has stated himself, it has freed him up and he’s even more relaxed on the course. Judging from his last two starts on Tour, this could spell trouble for the rest of his competition! Is he now the favourite for the upcoming Open Championship? Let us know in the comments below!
