At 40 years old, Tiger Woods has become an elder statesman in the sport of golf. He has singlehandedly redefined modern golf and in the process, influenced many of the young players we see on tour today, including world number one Jason Day and Rory McIlroy. This was summed up perfectly in “Ripple,” a previous Nike marketing campaign that stresses the inspiration that Tiger was to Rory.
Ahead of this week’s Quicken Loans National at Congressional CC, where Tiger Woods is the host, we hear from some of these young, successful players on the PGA Tour. They explain the influence and impact that the 14-time major champion had on their careers and how this ripple effect is still funneling down to junior and college golfers today. Golf would definitely not be where it is today without Tiger Woods and we can’t wait until he returns to competitive golf.
