Oakmont Country Club is considered one of the toughest, if not the toughest, golf course in America. Prior to the US Open, where Dustin Johnson captured his first Major Championship, Golfing World went behind the scenes with the golf club to find out about it’s history and more.
It definitely provided a very strong test for the world’s best last week, with undulating greens and speeds up to 15 on the stimpmeter. Although there was a rules fiasco on the part of the USGA, this was a very successful US Open, the ninth that Oakmont has hosted. The championship will be returning to Oakmont again in 2025, but before then, Erin Hills will be preparing for the Championship next year!
