For the first time since January at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, Jordan Spieth is in the winner’s circle again. This victory at the 2016 DEAN & DELUCA Invitational is Jordan’s eighth PGA title but it’s his first in his home state of Texas.
The last month has been a struggle for Jordan Spieth, highlighted by his infamous collapse at the 2016 Masters where he blew a five-shot lead in the back nine at Augusta. At the Colonial Country Club this past week, Jordan was lurking on the leaderboard in all four rounds but in the end, he finished with a flurry of birdies to win the tournament by three strokes over Harris English.
The world’s top three players have all won in their last starts – with Jason Day winning the PLAYERS Championship, Rory McIlroy winning the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and now, Jordan Spieth winning the 2016 DEAN & DELUCA Invitational. The US Open at Oakmont Country Club is just three weeks away and these results certainly set up for a highly anticipated second Major of the season.
