Apex is an iconic name in golf equipment. A few years ago, this name was revived by Callaway Golf and re-introduced to golfers through their Apex and Apex Pro Irons. For 2016, Callaway Golf updated their line of Apex irons and hybrids, with the irons featuring the industry-leading, category-defining Cup 360 technology in the 3-7 irons.
Although the 2016 Apex irons are already exceptional clubs, Callaway Golf announced a new custom option today with the new Callaway Apex Black Irons, similar to the Parsons Xtreme Golf 0311 Xtreme Black irons we saw a few weeks ago. To keep the stealth look throughout the entire club instead of just the clubface, Callaway has worked together with their shaft partners to offer golfers a new True Temper XP 95 Stepless Shaft with a satin black finish and a “blacked out” UST Recoil. A custom, “blacked out” Lamkin UTX grip will also be standard on this set.
Callaway will also provide additional premium after market shaft options at no upcharge. There will be no upcharge on customization on the makeup of your set as well, letting golfers choose a setup such as 4-PW, 5-PW, 4-AW or 5-AW, depending on each individual’s preference. The Callaway Golf Apex Black irons will cost $1,299.99 with steel shafts while graphite shafts will $1,499.99. The pre-sale date for these irons is on May 20 while a limited number of sets will be available at retail on June 3.
