Jason Day Wins PLAYERS Championship

For the third time in 2016, Jason Day is once again in the winner’s circle as he took home THE PLAYERS Championship this past weekend. This marks Jason’s seventh victory in his last 17 starts, dating back to his breakout year last season. Although Jason started slow in 2016, it wasn’t long before he caught fire, winning in back to back weeks at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and at the WGC-Dell Match Play.

Jason Day - TPC Sawgrass 17th hole

In the final round of THE PLAYERS Championship 2016, Jason Day never relinquished his lead en route to his four-shot win and his 10th career PGA TOUR title, a wire-to-wire victory. He started the tournament by tying the course record with a 63 and never looked back. Although the third round was one of the toughest rounds of the week, with the field scoring average at 75, Day kept his composure with his caddie and grinded out a terrific round. Day also did not have a bogey the entire week on the back-nine of TPC Sawgrass, the first player to ever do that during THE PLAYERS Championship.

He’s definitely been the most consistent of the new “Big Three/Four” over the past year and if his recent play is any indication, we can expect another summer of domination by Jason this year.
