Nike is always a leader in sports innovation and constantly pushes traditional boundaries. This year, they’ve really stepped up their game and introduced very different items to the sport of golf, particularly in apparel and footwear. Nike Golf’s 2016 spring and summer collections include the new “Enemies of the Course” pack by the Nike Golf Club Collection as well as slim, no-collar polos. In footwear, they’ve brought classics from other sports and adapted them for golf including the classic Lunar Force 1 G, Flyknit Chukka Golf and Jordan Brand golf shoes.
Today, they introduce their latest pack for the Nike Golf Club Collection: “Stay Hidden. Be Seen.” Thirteen years after Blue Ribbon Sports, founded by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, officially became NIKE, Inc., a company dedicated to advancing athletic performance, the first Nike golf shoe appeared on the course. And by 1986, Nike golf apparel made its debut.
Three decades on, the “Stay Hidden. Be Seen” pack celebrates this historic year. Taking inspiration from the past in order to launch golf style into the future, it infuses performance-led garments — a polka dot packable hooded jacket, a Nike AW77 Crew, Nike Legacy cap, washed polo and short, and t-shirts with various designs — with a healthy dose of attitude.
A re-worked camouflage dot print features reflective details while the incorporation and cropping of the brand’s iconic 26-degree hazard stripe underscores the importance of ’86. Lifestyle silhouettes and patterns are designed to keep the wearer hidden or exposed as needed. Limited-edition Vapor Fly and Vapor Fly Pro drivers with a matte black crown (as to traditional blue) supplements the pack and is one of the best looking drivers we’ve seen this year.
The Nike Golf Club Collection’s “Stay Hidden. Be Seen” pack will be available May 7 on nike.com and at select retailers.
