After navigating through a golf course that’s very demanding of a player’s ball striking at the RBC Heritage, the PGA Tour now heads to TPC San Antonio for the 2016 Valero Texas Open. The tournament will be played on the AT&T Oaks Course, a course that ranked as the toughest on the PGA Tour in 2015 outside of the major championships.
With four holes ranking in the top 50 toughest holes last season, it’s not surprising to see that the field average last year was 2.5 strokes over par. Native Texan Jimmy Walker will be in the field to defend his title as will current Open Champion, Zach Johnson. As with most courses in Texas, wind may play a factor and it will make an already challenging golf course even more difficult.
