Last week, we heard from Darren Clarke and Davis Love III in Golfing World’s “Inside the Game” as they spoke on the honour of captaining their respective Ryder Cup teams. In this “Big Interview,” Golfing World spends a bit more time with the US Captain as he looks forward to a huge year for him and for the players trying to make the 2016 Ryder Cup team.
The last time Davis Love III captained the US Ryder Cup team was in 2012 and it ended in heartbreaking fashion for the Americans. This was the year that Team Europe mounted a furious comeback on the final day, a comeback that eventually earned the term “Miracle at Medinah.”
This time around, with the help of a special Task Force, Davis will have the support of some of the biggest names in golf as his Vice Captains are Tiger Woods, Steve Stricker and Jim Furyk. Watch the interview as Davis gives his thoughts on putting together a team that would blend in a good mix of veteran leadership and youthful exuberance.
