Mr. Gary Player is one of legendary figures in the sport of golf. He has won 9 Major Championships and has achieved a career Grand Slam. At 80 years old, Mr. Player is arguably the pioneer of fitness in golf and still in tip-top shape, even making the cover of ESPN Body Magazine in recent years.
Despite all of Mr. Player’s accomplishments on the golf course, his work off the golf course may be even more legendary. In 1983, the Gary Player Foundation was established with the goal of addressing the education crisis in his native South Africa. The foundation has expanded since then, having raised more than $60 million USD worldwide in events staged across four continents. In the video above, Golfing World takes us “Inside the Game” for a closer look at Mr. Players extraordinary charity work. Truly legendary!
