Branden Grace Wins 2016 RBC Heritage

Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head is a golf course that’s very demanding on a golfer’s ball striking. It was not a problem for South African Branden Grace though as he shot a final round of 5-under 66 with seven birdies. This terrific round led to his first PGA Tour victory, fending off Russell Knox and Luke Donald, both of whom finished two shots behind.

It has been a long time coming for the 27 year old South African. Branden Grace has won ten times overseas and finished in the top 5 last season in the US Open at Chambers Bay and the PGA Championship. He was also 5-0 for the International team at the Presidents Cup.

With his victory, Branden has jumped up to 11th in the Official World Golf Rankings and will be exempted on the PGA Tour through the 2017-18 season. It should be noted that Bryson DeChambeau also tied for 4th in the tournament in his first tournament as a professional.
