2016 is a huge year for golf. In addition to the four major championships, this year will also see the return of golf to the Summer Olympics in Rio but that’s not all. The 41st edition of the bi-annual Ryder Cup will also be played at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota from September 27 to October 2.
Team USA’s struggle in the Ryder Cup has been much documented. For whatever reason, the Americans can’t seem to duplicate their success from the Presidents Cup and it has led to the creation of their Task Force. Meanwhile, Team Europe has won 8 of the last 10 Ryder Cups and has achieved success in other team tournaments as well.
In the newest ‘Inside the Game’ feature from Golfing World, we hear from the two Ryder Cup captains, Team Europe’s Darren Clarke and Team USA’s Davis Love III. In the interview, they express what an incredible honour and thrill it is for them to be captains for their respective teams and how they plan on leading their team to victory this year at Hazeltine.
