Course Flyover: The 145th Open at Royal Troon

The 145th Open Championship will be held at Royal Troon from July 10-17, 2016. With the Rio Olympics this year, many of the Major Championships will be closely packed together. This is approximately a month after the US Open at Oakmont Country Club and just two weeks before the PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club.

The Open was first held at Royal Troon in 1923 and it has become a regular venue ever since. The last time it was held at Royal Troon was in 2004, when Todd Hamilton won in a thrilling playoff over Ernie Els to capture the 133rd Open Championship.
