Last week, we introduced the Enemies of the Course collection by Nike Golf Club. In that article, we also shared a teaser of some awesome golf shoes including the new Lunar Mont Royal, Lunar Waverly and our favourite, the LunarForce 1 G. Today, Nike officially announced the LunarForce 1 G, inspired by the Nike Air Force 1.
You’ve most likely owned a pair of Air Force 1 shoes in your lifetime – it’s been a staple for generations, particularly for us at Eighteen Under Par, with one of the most iconic designs in street wear. “Icon,” by formal definition is a “person who is very successful and admired” or a “widely known symbol” and the Nike Air Force 1 definitely fits this classification. The shoe debuted in 1982 and has since served as a canvas for artists and designers from all industries, becoming a global street-culture standard.
Now, the celebrated shoe is taking its 30-year heritage to the golf course. Designed with lightweight Lunarlon cushioning and waffle-tread Integrated Traction for stability, the Nike Lunar Force 1 G is the latest addition to the Air Force 1 legacy. Worn on the PGA Tour by Nike athlete Tony Finau, the Nike Lunar Force 1 G (USD $140) will be available April 1 in two colorways (black/white and white/white) at nike.com and select retailers.
