After spending the first few months of 2016 in Asia and exploring the growth of golf in the region, CNN Living Golf travels to Scottsdale, Arizona during the week of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. It is the most attended event in the game and as Shane O’Donoghue finds out, there’s a reason why it’s called the “Greatest Show on Grass.”
In addition to experiencing the unique atmosphere at “The Coliseum” on TPC Stadium Course par-3 16th hole, CNN Living Golf sits down with one of the most recognizable faces in golf. Phil Mickelson has not only won the Phoenix Open three times but he has a special bond with the area as he was a former Arizona State student.
