The 2016 Masters is less than three weeks away. Aside from the excitement that comes with the year’s first Major, we are also looking forward to the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship. This initiative is in its third year and is aimed at making golf more fun for juniors in an effort to grow the sport.
Growth in the sport of golf is very important and initiatives like the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship are already paying dividends. Former participant, Lucy Li, is a young phenom who has already made her debut in the US Women’s Open at the age of 11.
This past Monday, world number one Jordan Spieth and LPGA star Lexi Thompson visited New York City for a media tour to promote the upcoming event. In addition to promoting the Drive, Chip and Putt Finals in a few weeks’ time, Jordan and Lexi also encouraged registration for this summer’s local qualifying.
