Bryson Dechambeau is an amateur American golfer with a very unique style and approach to the sport of golf. He may be one of the most interesting players in the game – his irons are all the same length, from sand wedge to 3-iron (by Edel Golf), he majors in Physics at Southern Methodist University to better understand his golf swing and to top it off, he wears a Ben Hogan Ivy Cap!
In 2015 he became the fifth golfer in history to win both the NCAA Division I championship and the U.S. Amateur in the same year, joining Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Ryan Moore as the only players to have achieved the feat. Although DeChambeau hoped to return to SMU for his senior year, the school’s golf (and basketball) programs were banned from post-season competition. His plans for the future now include playing The Masters as an amateur before turning professional. He’s definitely getting some professional experience though – watch the video above as Golfing World caught up with DeChambeau during the European Tour’s 2016 desert swing.
