CMax Floral Polo
Bunker Mentality is one of Europe’s most fashionable golf clothing brands. They pride themselves on offering bold, fashion forward clothing that they call “Modern British Golf.” Their mission is to create clothing that can be worn on and off the golf course, with their designers drawing inspiration from popular culture and fashion. The brand pushes the envelope of golf fashion without compromising golf etiquette.
We were fortunate to review their previous season’s collections (Spring/Summer 2014, Autumn/Winter 2014) – their clothing not only looks great, but performs great on the course as well. Their upcoming Spring and Summer 2016 collection may be their best yet, nicknamed “Unapologetically Bold,” the collection definitely shows their leadership in golf fashion.
CMax Paisley Polo
Two styles are offered among their new collection. The first is a Paisley Pattern made famous by the town of Paisley in Scotland. This pattern has been part of British Mod youth culture in the 60’s and 80’s and even a pattern worn by The Beatles. The Paisley Pattern almost has a bit of floral/tree motif to the design and became one of the inspirations for this season’s collection by Bunker Mentality.
CMax Vertical Stripe Polo
The second style also has strong links to the British Mod culture with its vertical stripes on the front of the shirts. Mod culture was a super-cool British sub-culture, characterized by smooth, sophisticated looks and styles in its menswear. Polo shirts were a big part of this, with small neat collars and various patterns including the vertical stripe. This shirt has a slimmer silhouette and smaller collar to bring this classic look right up to date to fit with Bunker Mentality’s Modern British Golf.
Creative Director, Robert Hart said, “These are two very different technical shirts compared to anything that currently is on the fairways and again, I think they show that we are focused on leading golf fashion in terms of style”. These garments are part of the Bunker Cmax Technical Range and emphasise the brands belief in design. Hart said, “When all brands are using more or less the same fabric with similar properties, design become the key differentiator.”
