Rory McIlroy tees it up state side this week and makes both his 2016 PGA TOUR and Riviera Country Club debut at the Northern Trust Open. This will be the first of three straight tournament appearances for McIlroy, who looks to return to the forefront of golf and reclaim the World Number 1 ranking.
McIlroy won early in the season last year at the WGC-Cadillac Matchplay Championship as well as the Wells Fargo Championship before succumbing to an ankle injury that saw him miss a considerable amount of time on TOUR. He would return to his winning ways late in 2015, capturing the DP World Tour Championship and Race to Dubai. He looks to stay healthy and be ready to go in 2016 to compete against the rest of the “Big 4” – Jordan Spieth, Jason Day and Rickie Fowler. Take a look at the video above and hear from Rory himself.
