Argentinian Fabian Gomez is your winner of the 2016 Sony Open in Hawaii, the first full-field tournament of 2016 on the PGA TOUR – and what a tournament it was! Gomez defeated Brandt Snedeker in the second playoff hole by making a two-putt birdie to claim his second PGA TOUR win (he won the FedEx St. Jude Classic last June). With golf returning to the Olympics this year in Brazil and with so many international players and winners on the PGA TOUR, the sport is really becoming a global game.
Gomez becomes only the fourth Argentinian to win multiple events on the PGA Tour, joining Robert de Vicenzo, Jose Coceres and Angel Cabrera. He won with a world-class performance on Sunday, shooting a final-round 62 that included seven birdies in a row on holes six through 12 and birdies on the final two holes to get to 20-under par. In the video above, take a look at the highlights from the 2016 Sony Open in Hawaii.
