Happy 40th birthday, Tiger Woods! It’s hard to believe that we’ve been watching Tiger Woods for two decades, as a 20-year-old who turned professional in 1996 to the present day 40-year-old. There have definitely been a lot of ups in his careers, winning 14 Major Championships and 79 PGA TOUR victories, but recently, it’s been a lot of downs. Injuries and swing changes have definitely made it hard for Tiger to be competitive over the past two years. Most people forget he won five times in 2013 and was even named the Player of the Year, but since then, he’s had three back surgeries (on the same spot) over the span of 19 months as well as other knee, Achilles, leg, wrist and neck problems. If he can keep his health in check, hopefully we can see a competitive Tiger Woods again.
With the crop of young players that he helped inspire during his peak years though, it seems as difficult as ever to win on the PGA TOUR. In the video above by Golfing World, take a look back at the incredible career of Tiger Woods to date.
