Scotty Cameron creates some of the finest putters in the sport of golf, played by some of the world’s top professionals and sought after by amateurs around the world. He’s a modern craftsman creating works of art. We’ve featured Scotty Cameron putters before including the Futura X and Futura X5 – today, we showcase the latest in the Futura family of putters, the Futura X7.
The Futura X putters are defined by modern contours that deliver high MOI performance through advanced perimeter weighting. The Futura X7 ($379) and X7M ($379 standard, $399 Dual Balance) models represent the latest and greatest in Cameron’s high MOI mallet line and will be available starting October 23, 2015.
“The motivation behind Futura X always has been to help golfers make a more stable, more balanced, more consistent, more confident stroke,” Cameron said. “We’ve enhanced those benefits with X7 and X7M through larger, multi-material constructions that make alignment simple. For the golfer, that translates into higher MOI for stability, a bigger sweet spot for forgiveness, easier alignment for a more confident setup, and a better, softer feel.”
Upon first glance, the Futura X7 may seem like simply a larger version of the Futura X5. And, it is bigger by about 10%. But, the subtleties you may not see are revealed when you explore the design’s intentions. Striving for an even more stable putter meant going larger. The bigger putter head presented an opportunity to increase MOI. Pairing the 6061 aluminum face-sole core technology with heavier 303 stainless steel in the perimeter and vibration dampening material between these two distinct materials created a putter head with a larger sweet spot and a soft, sure feel. The result is a putter with greater MOI and enhanced alignment features for an incredibly stable and forgiving setup.
The Futura X7M offers remarkable stability, forgiveness and feel. Like the original Futura, this new design helps golfers with alignment and could improve your putting stats immediately. With precision milled sight lines and visual cues like the all-new pop-through rail alignment system, touring professionals have stated that it simply melts into the green, setting up perfectly. Scotty’s new face-sole core technology and the “bar-back” wrap-around stainless steel body moves weight out from the center of gravity to achieve forgiving, high MOI. This translates to a greater resistance to twist and a larger sweet spot. From alignment to balance to its multi-material construction, Scotty’s new Futura X7M is a game-changer.
