Heading into the final round of the 2015 Wyndham Championship, the spotlight was definitely on Tiger Woods, as he played his way into the second to final pairing on Sunday. After rounds of 64-65-68, Tiger shot even-par to finish the tournament at 13-under-par, good for a T10 finish, his best finish of the year. He would have needed to win in order to extend his season into the FedEx Cup Playoffs, but now, we will probably not see Tiger tee it up again until the Frys.Com Open in October, the start of the 2015-16 season.
After a triple bogey 7 on the par-4 11th hole, Tiger birdied four of his last six holes – his game definitely seem like it’s heading in the right direction. A potential “hip injury” was bothering him throughout the final round, but hopefully it’s nothing too serious for the former World Number 1. He wasn’t too far back though – only four shots of winner Davis Love III.
With this win, Davis Love III becomes the third-oldest winner in PGA TOUR history at 51-years-old. He fired off two eagles on the date en route to a 6-under 64 to capture his 21st career victory. With this win, he has played his way into the FedEx Cup Playoffs, starting this week at The Barclays, as well as The 2016 Masters and PLAYERS Championships.
