After leaving his putt short on the 72nd hole and missing the playoffs by one stroke in the Open Championship last week, Jason Day flew across the pond to compete in the 2015 RBC Canadian Open. It would provide an opportunity for him to redeem himself and that he did as the tournament ended in an exciting finish on the last hole.
It was a battle throughout the final round of the RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club. In the end, it was Jason Day, Bubba Watson and Canadian David Hearn who were the last ones standing. Although Bubba birdied his last four holes, Jason Day ended his round with three straight birdies to keep pace and secure his fourth PGA Tour victory by one stroke. This is Jason’s second victory of the season, having won the 2015 Farmer’s Insurance Open earlier this year.
The drought of a Canadian winning its national tournament will extend for another year however, David Hearn gave it a good run, finishing in third at 15-under par. Adam Hadwin also had a strong showing, sneaking into the top ten and finishing at 12-under.
