The first round of the 2015 RBC Canadian Open is underway after a short turnaround from the Monday finish at the 144th Open Championship in St Andrews. The third oldest tournament on the PGA Tour returns to Glen Abby Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario this year, where Tiger Woods famously hit his 216 yards, 6-iron from the fairway bunker on the 72nd hole to complete the triple crown of national championships in year 2000.
Tiger Woods will not be in the field this year but 13 tour winners this season and 9 past champions of the RBC Canadian Open will be represented in the field. There is currently a 61 year drought since the last time a Canadian won its national championship but there will be 16 Canadians in the field this week hoping to change that. Headlining the list of Canadians are Graham DeLaet, Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor, who will all aim to be in the winner’s circle this Sunday.
