Rory McIlroy made his last start last week at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open before he tees it up at the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay. He put in a lot of work over the past couple of months for the Irish Open, as he was the host of the tournament with proceeds benefiting his foundation, The Rory Foundation.
We’ve seen first hand how much work is needed to organize and host a golf tournament from a behind the scenes look at Tiger Woods’ Hero World Challenge – there is a lot of responsibility for the host. Perhaps this first time experience took it’s toll on Rory as he failed to make the cut. It would be the second missed cut in as many weeks as he did not play the weekend at the BMW PGA Championship either and third straight missed cut at the Irish Open. He’ll spend the next few weeks trying to get his game back to the level that saw him dominate the field at the Wells Fargo Championship.
In the video above, watch as Golfing World goes behind the scenes at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open with Darren Clarke, Graeme McDowell, members of The Rory Foundation and of course, Rory McIlroy!
