Cabot Links in Inverness, Nova Scotia on Cape Breton Island has been ranked among the world’s top 50 courses since opening in 2012, and it could soon be surpassed by a second 18 holes next door, Cabot Cliffs, that is scheduled to open in July 2015. Inverness was previously a coal mining community, but when that business disappeared, the future of the town dimmed. However, Ben Cowan-Dewar, an entrepreneur from Toronto, and Mike Keiser, creator of Bandon Dunes, soon got together to grow support to build a golf resort on a former coal mine to bring life into the town again. They received approval and enlisted the help of Coore & Crenshaw Designs to build the resort – they have even said the land is one of the best they’ve ever worked with. Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs are two courses that will really complement each other.
With these two amazing golf courses and five-star accommodations and amenities, this part of our country is quickly becoming a must-go golf destination. Take a look at the video above for a preview of the 2015 season at Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs – it will leave you breathless!
