Steve Williams is best known for his role as Tiger Wood’s caddy from 1998-2011. He has been retired from caddying since September 2014 and was last seen on the bag of Australian Adam Scott. While working with Scott, Williams helped him breakthrough for his first Major Championship at the 2013 Masters, becoming the first Australian to win at Augusta National. He even helped Scott reach world number 1! Since Wiliams’ retirement though, Scott has struggled with his results. According to news today, Steve Williams will return to caddy for Adam in his next four events, including the US Open at Chambers Bay, the Open Championship, WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the PGA Championship.
In the Golf Digest video above, they visit the home of Steve Williams in Huapai, New Zealand to catch up with the caddy on what he has been up to during his retirement. Retirement life does seem very relaxing and peaceful for the caddy who won 13 Major Championships with Tiger Woods and one with Adam Scott. But the lure of competition and the love of golf has him returning to the bag of Adam Scott and he will try to help rekindle Adam’s game in these upcoming tournaments.
