Michael Jordan is perhaps the most well known athlete in all of sports. He had a tremendous basketball career and is considered the best to ever play the game. But throughout his career, he’s also had a well-known passion for golf and to celebrate this, Jordan Brand unveils its newest retail golf shoe – the Jordan Flight Runner Golf.
Since retiring from basketball, Jordan has fueled his competitive drive on the golf course, inspiring Jordan Brand designers to create this new performance silhouette. It’s not the first time we’ve seen Jordan Brand golf shoes though – Keegan Bradley has been wearing different pairs over the past year or two. The limited-edition offering combines one of Jordan Brand’s premium training styles, the Jordan Flight Runner 2, with Nike Golf’s innovative Nike Free-inspired tooling.
“The Jordan Flight Runner Golf is the perfect combination of Jordan and Nike innovation coupled with Michael’s love for the game of golf,” said Larry Miller, President, Jordan Brand. “This is the same formula that helped us create some of the most iconic shoes over the past thirty years and we are excited to bring Jordan Brand energy to the golf course.”
At first glance, the Jordan Flight Runner Golf reminds us a bit of the Nike Golf TW’15. It combines mesh and synthetic materials in the upper for lightweight support and breathability, while the shoe’s dynamic Nike Flywire provides the ultimate in fit. The midsole contains a forefoot moderation plate that stabilizes the foot when twisting and the lightweight injected unit delivers maximized comfort on the course. The outsole’s TRI-LOK soft spikes and Free-inspired construction provide a flexible and supportive ride.
