THE PLAYERS Championship is upon us and there will be no shortage of stars that try to conquer TPC Sawgrass and capture the title of PLAYERS Champion this week. Tiger Woods returns to competition again since his last start at The Masters – he’ll try to join Jack Nicklaus as the only three-time winners of THE PLAYERS. Other players that are coming in on a streak are Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy (who won last week’s WGC-Cadillac Matchplay), but you can’t count out names like Justin Rose, Jason Day or even Dustin Johnson.
One player who will be there is defending champion Martin Kaymer. Last year, Kaymer tied the TPC Sawgrass course record of 63 enroute to his first PLAYERS Championship. His fine play led to an incredible year where he also captured the US Open at Pinehurst No. 2 and became part of the winning European Ryder Cup Team.
