Player Profile: Matteo Manassero

Matteo Manassero is one of the best dressed golfers and has been one of the young, rising stars in the sport of golf for many years now. After a very successful amateur career that saw him win the British Amateur Championship and also make the cut at the 2009 Open Championship (T13, low amateur) and 2010 Masters Tournament (T36, low amateur). He would turn professional later in 2010 and recorded his maiden European Tour victory at the Castello Masters in Spain. This would make him the youngest winner of the European Tour ever at 17-years-old.

Through each of his first four years on the European Tour, Manassero recorded at least one victory. He would win Maybank Malaysian Open in 2011, Barclays Singapore Open in 2012 and the European Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship, in 2013. One of the most criticized parts of his game though was his length – people were always saying he was not long enough to really contend and this eventually got to Matteo. He’s gone through a series of swing changes in an attempt to get longer, but in the short run, the changes have negatively affected his game.

In the video above by Golfing World, hear from Matteo himself as well as his caddy and others in the media that talk about his game, how the changes in his swing are going and more. Take a look!
