Trump Turnberry Ailsa Course Changes

Aside from being a real estate mogul, Donald Trump is an avid golf fan and he made quite the splash in the golfing world when he added the historic Turnberry Resort to his portfolio. As one of the venues in the Open Championship, the Ailsa Course at Trump Turnberry is consistently one of the top ranked courses in the world. But now, The Donald has something in the works, such as a $300 million makeover on the golf course.

With golf architects MacKenzie and Ebert commissioned to renovate Trump Turnberry, there will be significant changes that includes building or rebuilding five holes and nine greens, and resurfacing the other nine greens. The R&A are involved in the process on a consulting basis as Trump Turnberry aims to host the Open Championship once again in the near future.

The Ailsa Course will be closed from September 27, 2015 and is scheduled to reopen in June 2016 with a new makeover. The animated video above shows the proposed changes and after viewing it, we are certain Trump Turnberry will continue to be a ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of Ayrshire, Scottish and British golf!
