Inside The Game: Old Course at St. Andrews

Last year, we were fortunate enough to visit The Home of Golf – The Old Course at St. Andrews. As you walk the grounds, you can just sense how special this place really is and all the legends of the game who have walked on the same grounds. This year, The Old Course will host The Open Championship for the 29th time. In the video above, Golfing World goes behind the scenes with Course Manager Gordon McKie to see how preparations are going ahead of The Open.

Being The Home of Golf, The Old Course is also a great place for players to say goodbye to the sport. Sir Nick Faldo, who’s defining moment came during his 1987 Open Championship win, will play in his last Open Championship this year. Not only will it be his last Open, but it will also be his 100th start in a Major Championship, which will definitely prove to be a special week for the six-time Major champion.
