Sunday Conversation: Jordan Spieth

Jordan Spieth has talked about winning The Masters and a Green Jacket since he was at least 14-years-old. Last year, in his first appearance at Augusta National, he was in the Sunday final pairing, but came up short to Bubba Watson. Spieth returned this year and never gave anyone else a chance at the tournament.

As one of the greatest weeks of his life, Spieth, 21, broke numerous records throughout the tournament. He set the lowest 36 hole score (14-under par), lowest 54 hole score (16-under par) and tied Tiger Woods with the lowest 72 hole score (18-under par). He was at 19-under par at one point before a bogey on the 72nd hole. He has also made the most birdies in one tournament with 28 this week (previous mark was 25, held by Phil Mickelson) and was the first wire-to-wire Champion since Raymond Floyd in 1976.

Spieth was definitely the player in form heading into Augusta – he won the Valspar Championship, then finished second and T2 at the Valero Texas Open and Shell Houston Open, respectively. Perhaps he came into Augusta a bit under the radar with the focus on Rory McIlroy possibly completing the career grand slam and also the return of Tiger Woods. But Spieth would steal the show – in the video above, watch as Spieth sits down with ESPN Golf to talk about his first Major Championship as well as how his sister inspires him in his golf and in his life.
