Although the Ryder Cup is still more than a year away, there has been a lot preparation for the biannual tournament. Team USA has put together a Task Force and named Davis Love III as their captain in 2016. On the European side, Darren Clarke will lead Team Europe as they try and continue their success in the Ryder Cup at the 2016 venue, Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota.
Darren Clarke has previously represented Team Europe in the Ryder Cup five times and was a part of the winning team in four of them. To be appointed Captain of the European team in the 2016 Ryder Cup is the ‘highest honour’ in Darren’s eyes. With his success and experience the previous events, Darren will have a lot to draw from in his captaincy. In the video above, Darren speaks with Golfing World about being appointed the European Ryder Cup captain and what lies ahead of him before the tournament.
