Adidas Golf: Season Opener

Adidas Golf Season Opener Jason Day Sergio Garcia Dustin Johnson

The season’s first Major Championship, The Masters, is less than two weeks away. Players are trying to get into the field at Augusta National during the PGA TOUR’s Texas Swing this week (Valero Texas Open, Shell Houston Open), while others are preparing both physically and mentally through work in the gym and on the range. Defending champion, Bubba Watson, even went through a media day last week in New York City to promote The Masters as well as the Drive, Chip and Putt program.

Excitement is definitely in the air – players can feel it and so can golf companies. ECCO Golf released a limited edition Fred Couples Signature Edition 1992 Casual Hybrid golf shoe to commemorate The Masters and Nike Golf has shown the world what their athletes will wear throughout the week. Today, Adidas Golf joins the party and releases their apparel scripts for the Season Opener for Jason Day, Sergio Garcia and Dustin Johnson.

All three golfers will be sporting Adidas Climachill Polos which features strategically placed small aluminum dots which deliver a cooling sensation upon contact with the skin. For footwear, Garcia and Day will be wearing the latest and most innovative Adidas Golf shoe yet – the Adidas Asym Energy Boost. We’ve featured the Adidas AdiPower Boost earlier in the year, but the Asym is the first fully asymmetrical golf shoe with front and back foot specific performance technology. The shoes also provide full length boost foam for ultimate comfort, soft and breathable micro-fiber leather upper with climaproof protection and a front foot energy sling adds support to maximize power throughout the swing.

What do you think of their outfits? Although Rory McIlroy is the favourite heading into Augusta as he aims to complete the career grand slam, you can bet it will not be easy. Jason Day always plays well at The Masters, Sergio Garcia should be due for a Major soon, and a resurging Dustin Johnson is definitely has a chance to win every time he tees it up. What are your predictions for The Masters this year?
