Adidas Golf first announced they were utilizing Boost Technology into the sport of golf earlier in the year with the AdiPower Boost. Today, they add to the Boost footwear family with the first fully asymmetrical golf shoe, the asym energy Boost. In golf, the front and back foot have radically different needs, and the asym energy Boost is the first golf shoe specifically designed to handle those needs. The shoes provide full length boost foam for ultimate comfort, a soft and breathable micro-fiber leather upper with climaproof protection and a front foot energy sling adds support to maximize power throughout the swing.
The uniquely built left and right shoes guide weight transfer, stability and power through the swing. Utilizing the latest biomechanical equipment, adidas Golf was better able to analyze footwear during the golf swing and more importantly, how footwork impacts the game. Through extensive heat map and force plate pressure studies, they discovered how different and unique the vertical and horizontal forces were for each foot during the swing. The asym energy Boost is designed to harness these differences with performance characteristics dedicated to both the front and back foot.
Offered in both left and right handed versions (RH version above, back foot), the asym energy Boost strategically placed tour-proven gripmore® spikes on the outsole in a variety of sizes to provide improved stability, grip, and performance during all phases of the swing. Full-length boostTM midsole foam is also featured for unrivaled cushioning and endless energy, as well as an asymmetric upper and outsole designed to harness swing power and improve footwork and an energy sling to guide energy transfer and prevent power leaks during the swing.
Both Jason Day and Sergio Garcia will be wearing the asym energy Boost next week at The masters. Available April 1, men’s asym energy boost will be available in two colorways and sold for both left and right-handed golfers at an MSRP of USD $300.
