Nike Golf: Why Change?

Nike Golf prides themselves in working closely with their athletes to create the best possible products to help them succeed in their sport. They’ve often worked with Tiger Woods in club design and more recently, with current World Number 1, Rory McIlroy.

For 2015, the Nike Golf line of equipment revolves around the Vapor family and the Volt colourway. We first saw the release of the Vapor irons at Liberty National Golf Club. A couple of months later, we saw Rory McIlroy replace his Covert 2.0 driver, which he used to win two Major Championships in 2014, with the Vapor Pro driver during the Ryder Cup. He’s a tremendous driver of the golf ball, so why would he switch clubs? It’s the same reason why you would switch anything – to get better!

Players, especially Tiger and Rory, will not put a new club in the bag if it isn’t better – and the Vapor line of drivers, woods and hybrids have definitely improved on the success of the Covert 2.0 family. In the video above, Nike Golf takes a humourous look at the factors golfers of all skill levels face when deciding to change their driver. Five Nike athletes – Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Michelle Wie, Charles Barkley and Bo Jackson – appear in the spot while comedian Keegan-Michael Key provides the voiceover.
