Ahead of last week’s Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club, TaylorMade hosted a “red carpet premiere” of their Made of Greatness player film series. The series begins with Sergio Garcia who had a fairly strong season in 2014, finishing runner-up to Rory McIlroy at The Open Championship with Rickie Fowler. It’s a great short film that allows us to get to know the player and company relationship and their continued pursuit of greatness. Another great short film that we’ve featured recently is titled “here, now” by Ashworth Golf, part of the TaylorMade-Adidas group, and features Justin Rose. In the video above, take a look behind the scenes at the “drive-in” movie event at Riviera!
It could have been a storybook week for TaylorMade and their Made of Greatness campaign if Garcia would have won. He was in contention on Sunday and had a chance to win the tournament or at least join three man playoff at Riviera. Instead, he would bogey his last two holes to miss the playoff by one stroke, finishing the tournament at 5-under par and T4. It would be James Hahn, ranked 297 in the world, that would survive the playoff against Paul Casey and Dustin Johnson with some amazing shot making ability and clutch putting, to win the Northern Trust Open.
