Rory McIlroy Wins Omega Dubai Desert Classic

Rory McIlroy is an unstoppable force in golf right now. After shooting 66-64-66-70 for the tournament at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, McIlroy would tie the tournament record at 22-under par (Thomas Bjorn; Stephen Gallacher) and earn his 10th European Tour victory. This would also be the second time he’s won at the Emirates Golf Club, the first time being his maiden professional title back in 2009 for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

With this win, it’s also a stretch of runner-up finishes that McIlroy’s ends. In his last few starts, McIlroy has finished runner-up at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, DP World Tour Championship and the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship. “It’s nice to be able to put my name on that trophy again,” said McIlroy, who has now won four and been runner-up in three of his last seven European Tour starts.
