Tiger Woods makes his 2015 season debut this week at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and also debuts his new signature shoe, the Nike Golf TW15. It’s perhaps one of the best crowds in all of golf, especially at the par-3 16th hole which has a stadium effect and about 20,000 fans cheering. Although Tiger returned to competitive golf in December during his Hero World Challenge (won by Jordan Spieth, who he will be paired with), his game showed obvious signs of rust.
After missing the cut at the PGA Championship, Tiger shut it down for the rest of 2014 in order to focus on the rehabilitation of his back. He had a microdiscectomy surgery earlier in the year and was never really fully healthy. With the rehabilitation, he most likely did not have the time to practice his “new, but old” golf swing before the Hero World Challenge. But after regaining 100% health and having even more time to practice, we hope to see flashes of the Tiger of old this week at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. In the video above, take a look at some of his swings during a practice round.
And below, watch as Tiger revisits his best memories from his time at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Can you guess what those moments are? Hear from Tiger himself as he describes it!
