Comfort, Control and Customization. Building on the success of the men’s Nike Lunar Control franchise, Nike Golf introduces the women’s Nike Lunar Control. Not only is it the first women’s shoe in the Lunarlon collection, but also the first women’s golf shoe available for customization on NIKEiD.
We’ve seen women’s golf shoes from Nike before in the Nike Golf Lunar Adapt, but with the women’s Lunar Control, NIKEiD gives golf athletes the ability to create a completely unique pair of golf shoes. US Women’s Open Champion, Michelle Wie, is an avid fan of the NIKEiD customization and will design her own shoes and wear several different custom colourways on the LPGA Tour this season. Wie will debut the shoe next week on the LPGA, Coates Golf Championship in Ocala, Florida.
The women’s lunar control features an outsole with seven spikes and secondary traction elements to help athletes stay connected to the ground. The shoe utilizes a carbon fiber midfoot shank for more stable control through the swing. Nike Flywire cables wrap the foot for adaptive lateral support and smooth weight transfer through impact.
For lighter, more responsive cushioning, designers incorporated a lightweight full-length Nike Lunarlon foam in the midsole to ensure athletes stay comfortable through 18 holes. The shoe’s upper is made from a microfiber synthetic material to provide durability, water resistance and out-of-the-box comfort.
The women’s Nike Lunar Control is available now for customization on NIKEiD as well as on nike.com and at select retailers in three colorways (Pure Platinum/Pink, White/Blue Lagoon and White/Volt) for an MSRP of USD $210.
