We’ve recently featured the latest Callaway golf ball, the Chrome Soft, which the company says will revolutionize the golf ball market. The Chrome Soft is a three-piece, urethane-covered golf ball specifically designed to allow amateur players to create Tour-like compression at impact. The technology in the golf ball will appeal to a wide range of players because of it’s soft feel, Tour-like spin around the greens and low spin/more distance off the driver and long irons.
A low 65 compression provides the soft feel while also reducing spin on long shots whereas the urethane cover provides the greenside performance of a Tour level ball. The SoftFast Core is unique to the Chrome Soft and is the key to having a soft feeling golf ball without sacrificing distance. Even Phil Mickelson, who typically plays the Callaway Speed Regime SR3 model, has raved about this golf ball and may even put it into competition.
In the video above, watch as Shane Bacon of the Back9Network visits the Callaway Golf Ball Plant in Chicopee, Massachusetts, to see the start to finish process of producing a golf ball and learn about the technology that goes into the Chrome Soft golf ball. The Chrome Soft has been available since January 16, 2015 in white and yellow for around $39.99 per dozen.
