Jimmy Walker had a multiple win season last year, winning the Frys.com Open, Sony Open and AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. He also finished in the top-10 at The Masters, the US Open and the PGA Championship. He finished T26 at The Open Championship. With that type of season, he also made his first ever Ryder Cup appearance at Gleneagles.
To start 2015, Walker went to Hawaii to compete in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and the Sony Open. There must be something about Hawaii for Walker – at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, he was in a playoff with eventual winner Patrick Reed. Although he lost in the playoff, his fine play continued into the following week at the Sony Open at Waialae Country Club on the island of Oahu. Over the weekend, Walker shot 62-63 on the weekend and won the tournament by a record nine shots (previous record was seven shots by Paul Azinger, 2000). Walker also became the first repeat winner at the Sony Open since Ernie Els in 2004 and averaged a score of 66 during his time in Hawaii.
