It’s 2015 and you can be sure golf companies will be rolling out new products for the year slowly. We’ve seen new equipment released to the public recently such as the TaylorMade Golf R15 and AeroBurner line of metalwoods. Today, Ping Golf announces an updated G30 driver as well as their new Glide wedges and Cadence TR putters.
The G30 driver, featuring turbulator technology, was one of the best selling and performing drivers of 2015. The G30 driver was for the majority of the market whereas the G30 SF Tec had more of a draw bias. Today, Ping announces the G30 LS Tec (Low Spin Technology) for golfers with faster swing speeds who would benefit from lower spin rates. The centre of gravity (CG) is 8 percent closer to the face which decreases spin on centre hits by up to 400 rpm. The CG is also lower and farther back in the head for more help on mishits. The G30 LS Tec also features a redesigned, five-setting hosel to allow golfers to change lofts by 1 degree, in 0.5 degree increments. If you’re a high-spin player, the G30 LS Tec may be the right one for you as it combines low, stable spin with a high moment of inertia for added distance with accuracy and control.
The new Glide wedges announced by Ping are engineered from the hands down (grip to sole) to ensure short-game performance by increasing spin and consistency from any distance. The Dyla-wedge grip (longer for gripping down for trajectory control; 0.75″ longer than standard grips), CFS Wedge shaft (weight, flex and balance optimized) and head design (moisture-repelling 431 stainless steel, 3 sole options (wide, standard, thin), added bounce, loft-optimized Gorge grooves) combine to deliver our most versatile and consistent wedge line to date. There are 13 loft and sole combinations to fit different swing types or turf conditions while the loft-optimized grooves target specific spin rates and trajectories. Bubba Watson had three Ping Glide wedges during his win at the WGC-HSBC Champions.
Lastly, Ping Golf announces their new Cadence TR putters. Cadence TR models advance putter fitting by utilizing different-weight face inserts to fit golfers for their stroke tempo and feel preference. Traditional-weight inserts (blue in color) typically fit mid-to-faster tempos and can improve lag putting. Heavy inserts (black; between 25 – 33 grams) match slower strokes and can lead to better results on shorter putts. Next-generation True-Roll Technology grooves vary in width and depth to provide ball-speed consistency and accuracy on all lengths of putts. The Cadence TR line includes three new models: the Anser W (blade), the Rustler (mallet) and the Tomcat C (mid-mallet, center-shafted). Be sure to visit the Ping website to see all the putter models.
